15 February

Fellow members

Here is the latest outline of our activities completed and planned for our association.

  1. Our next luncheon is scheduled for Thursday, February 23rd at the Royal Victoria Yacht Club, gathering at 1130 for a 1215 seating. Chef Andrew has put together an exceptional menu and I again willing to customize a lunch for those with special needs or tastes. I am attaching the proposed menu to this email. Cost will be the normal $25.Our speaker will be:
    Captain Yujin Lee
    Air Combat Systems Officer
    443 Maritime Helicopter Squadron

Captain Lee will be speaking on 443’s operations and its role in supporting MARPAC operations. Included will be future plans and directions for the squadron.

The following day, for those interested, we have scheduled a tour of the squadron commencing at the new hanger at 1000. Please plan to arrive a little early as the tour will start promptly at 1000.

Following the tour, for those wishing, we are planning lunch at  Mary’s Bleue Moon Café.

Please contact Peter Bey at 250-652-2225  petebey@gmail.com to register your attendance for the lunch and as well if you can make it, the tour and lunch (optional).

  2. At our last Executive meeting, your Board reviewed an application for support from a local cadet (CPO2 Erin Lawlwss from RCSCC Beacon Hill) who is planning to attend the 100 year anniversary of the Battle of Vimy Ridge. We approved a donation to her expenses of up to $500 and will match other member donations to this limit.. Funds raised will be presented to her at her corps on her regular Parade night, February 23rd.  We invite you to join with us on this worthwhile endeavor. If you are able to help, please contact me at billconconi@me.com and we will make the appropriate arrangements.
  3. Memberships for 2017 are now due and if you have not already done so, we invite you to renew either online or by the time honoured way of sending in a cheque. Bill Macdonald bcalmed1@shaw.ca 250-661-3731 will be pleased to help you with the process. We understand the change of membership year to the calendar year has caught a few by surprise and we look forward to working with you to bring things up to date.

Yours Aye

Bill
