Federal Member of Parliament Karen McCrimmon was the guest speaker at the NAC-Ottawa virtual monthl y meeting held on May 3rd, 2021. In the RCAF she was the first woman to qualify as an Air Navigator and the first woman to command a squadron. This was 429 Tactical Transport Squadron, then flying CC130H Hercules aircraft. Now in government, she is the Chair of the Parliamentary Standing Committee on National Defence, President of the NATO Parliamentary Association, and Vice-President of the NATO Parliamentary Assembly.
