DESCRIPTION:2019 NAC NATIONAL AGM\nWEDNESDAY – 19 JUNE 2019\, (1200 OTTAWA TIME)\nTHE 2019 NAC NATIONAL AGM WILL BE HELD ON WEDNESDAY 19 JUNE 2019\, VIA TELECONFERENCE AND WILL USE THE GOTOMEETING CONFERENCING TOOL . THE DOCUMENTS BELOW PROVIDE THE AGENDA ITEMS AND OTHER BACKGROUND INFORMATION THAT WILL BE  DISCUSSED\, SUBMITTED FOR APPROVAL OR TABLED AT THE AGM\nIn order to participate in the AGM\, members are requested to advise the Executive Director by email so that they may be registered in GoToMeeting. Those members without computer access can call in\, using a 1-800 number as well (Canada (Toll Free): 1 888 455 1389 ). The access code will be provided 48 hours in advance of the meeting. \nHow to vote/nominate a proxy: Members can vote in advance on three motions and nominate a proxy who can represent  (and vote) on their behalf for any motion arising at the AGM. Instructions on how to do this can be found in the document entitled “2019 NAC AGM Ballot and Proxy Forms” found below. There are three options: \na. Mail in your ballot and proxy form; or \nb. Email the executivedirector-nac@outlook.com and attach and/or cut and paste your ballot and proxy form into the email in accordance the instruction; or (and perhaps simplest!)\, \nc. Email the executivedirector-nac@outlook.com and indicate your vote (ballot) on the three ballot items and name your proxy\, all in one email. Ensure your signature block is at the bottom of the email (name\, address and phone number). \nAs usual if you have any questions please contact the NAC executive director (executive director-nac@outlook.com) \nNAC Directors information – See the Motion below on the proposed extension of the current Board of Director (BOD) terms – The following Directors will continue to serve NAC National (the new term end dates are in parenthesis): Bill Conconi (2020)\, David Coulson (2020)\, Jeff Gilmour (2020\,  Brian Cook (2020)\, Mike Hoare (2021)\, Barry Walker (2021)\, Rod Hughes (2021\, Ian Parker (2021)\, and Mark Phillips (2021). William (Bill) C. Thomas (2019) has indicated that he will be standing down as of the 19 June 2019 AGM and does not wish to extend his term. \nTherefore\, and as approved at the 2018 AGM\, the NAC National Board of Directors will be made up of 9  members in 2019/2020. Therefore there are no nominations for Directors being sought at this AGM.

DESCRIPTION:The following are the know locations of BOA ceremonies and related events as applicable. You will also find some of the applicable orders for these at the bottom of this webpage\, if interested. For most folks the information below will suffice. Please note that participation in/the size/scale of parades may vary due to the fact that a large number of our Naval Reservists are deployed assisting with flood control operations\, mostly in the eastern part of Canada. \nNAC does not organize these events and the responsible organization for each of these varies across the country. RCSCC Skeena puts on a simple but moving ceremony at the town War Monument.\n\nMONTREAL:  CLOCK TOWER (AT THE MEMORIAL) – OLD MONTREAL\n\n1310 -1315  Participants are to gather on the pier in front of the Clock Tower Clock Tower (memorial). There will be no parade due to the military assistance required for flood control\n1315 – 1500 Ceremony  at Clock Tower (memorial) – Old Montreal\n\nSAINT JOHN\, NB: CEREMONY AT SAINT JOHN STONE CHURCH\, 87 CARLETON STREET\n\n1000 – HMCS Brunswicker will commemorate the anniversary of the Battle of the Atlantic with a ceremony  at the Saint John Stone Church\, 87 Carleton Street\, Saint John.\n\nHALIFAX: SAILORS’ MEMORIAL – POINT PLEASANT PARK\, HALIFAX\n\n1015 -1200 Ceremony at the Sailors’ Memorial\n\nST. JOHN’S\, NL: BATTLE OF THE ATLANTIC CHURCH SERVICE AND PARADE\n\n1100 – HMCS Cabot will commemorate the Battle of the Atlantic Anniversary with a Church Service at 11:00 a.m. at the Gower Street United Church followed by a parade to the National War Memorial for a wreath laying ceremony at 12:45 p.m.\nBotwood Bay NL\, – 1100-1500 – Harbourside wreath laying ceremony at the Port of Botwood Wharf sponsored by the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #5 Botwood\, Newfoundland & Labrador. Reception to follow at Botwood Legion.\n\nTwo significant events are held every year in support of NAC objectives: the Battle of the Atlantic Gala Dinner (in abeyance for 2019)\, and the National Annual General Meeting\, which is normally accompanied by a conference or seminar dealing with an important naval topic.  This section contains information on these two events\, as well as other events of importance to NAC objectives. \nIn addition\, each branch holds their own events in support of the aims of the association.  These events will be announced in the Calendar.
