Dan Sing

Dan retired from the Royal Canadian Navy in 2014 after 36 years of service. He is a 1981 graduate of the Royal Military College of Canada, a 1995 graduate of Canada’s Command and Staff Course and a 2010 graduate of Canada’s National Security Programme. He holds a Master of Arts (Security and Defence Management Policy) from the Royal Military College of Canada. Dan served at sea in HMC Ships RESTIGOUCHE, CHIGNECTO, COWICHAN and ALGONQUIN. He commanded HMCS REGINA and Maritime Operations Group Four. His shore postings have included assignments as a Recruiting Officer, Canada’s Naval Attaché to France, a Curriculum Planner at Staff College, a Watch Officer at the National Defence Operations Centre, the Navy’s Business Planner, Director of Maritime Requirements (Sea), acting Director General Maritime Force Development, Director General Maritime Strategic Management, and Director General Maritime Force Development.
